In comments to Chemical and Engineering News, he talked about the Department of Defense's evolving approach to scientific research. The Department faces numerous challenges, including shrinking budgets and the need to deploy new technologies more quickly. It's also working to improve communications between the lab and the field. In Notes from the Editor published in the first edition of the new journal, Prof. Alexander writes, "It is hoped that Terrorism: An Electronic Journal and Knowledge Base will establish itself as a thought-provoking and academically stimulating tool of literature in furthering the cause of peace with justice."

Associate Academic Fellow Khatuna Mshvidobadze, MBA, is part of the Potomac Institute Cyber Center. A native of Georgia, Ms. Mshvidobadze is currently working on a major project researching the role of Russian social media in Russian politics and elections. In her latest post on the PICC blogsite, she writes that Russian president Vladimir Putin "appears now to understand that the Web plays an immense role in forming the mindset of the people."
